it's been a good week.
MONDAY: closed out the star bar. had the kind of loose yet cohesive set that i usually dream of, including a hannibal buress-inspired riff, a calling out of myself for that hannibal buress-inspired riff, a weird stream-of-consciousness ad-lib, and a successful callback to that weird ad-lib. one of my favorite sets ever. top five, easily.

it looks like the schedule at the laughing skull has changed, so my carefully cultivated plan to spend my 40th birthday on stage doing comedy has been thwarted. this means i may have to make actual plans, because i’m pretty sure if i’m not doing something i enjoy i will be alone, sobbing - SOBBING - and i’d like to avoid that, please and thank you.

last night, as i tried to leave the star bar, the battery light came on in the dash of my car. then the steering went out. i managed to get it back to the parking lot, caught a cab home.
