vroom. vroom. clank. ch-ching.

last night, as i tried to leave the star bar, the battery light came on in the dash of my car. then the steering went out. i managed to get it back to the parking lot, caught a cab home.

i got it to the shop this morning. i hoped it was a belt gone bad, something simple & cheap. instead the shmooney broke and it affected the thingamajig, so the whole thing with labor will cost me $320.

if this had happened four months ago, when i’d made the financial miscalculation & ended up very depressed, it might have been - no, it WOULD HAVE BEEN the end of me. but today i just shrugged. it might not be huge, but it’s always going to be something, isn’t it? i’m not doing great money-wise, but i luckily have enough socked away for a major car repair like this without it ruining me. so really, i’m doing okay. better than a lot, honestly. allow me to take a moment to count my blessings and ride this geo prizm till the wheels fall off. ha.
