it’s been a good week.

MONDAY: closed out the star bar. had the kind of loose yet cohesive set that i usually dream of, including a hannibal buress-inspired riff, a calling out of myself for that hannibal buress-inspired riff, a weird stream-of-consciousness ad-lib, and a successful callback to that weird ad-lib. one of my favorite sets ever. top five, easily.

WEDNESDAY: hosted the open mic at laughing skull. tried to keep it as zippy as possible, but that mic is a wild animal - it can’t be tamed. i did my best, though. working on my hosting chops. chris tucker decided to drop in and do a little time. yes, that chris tucker. i gave him a 6 minute warning light. hey - i had a packed show. running a tight ship over here.

THURSDAY, pt.1: hosted the StoryTime show at relapse. the premise of the show is that comics come up & tell a story and i sit on stage with them, asking questions when need be. kind of like a less creepy inside the actor’s studio, or a not-obnoxious doug benson’s the benson interruption. really looking forward to this one. i was allowed to book it as well, so i loaded it down with hilarious people, like a couple of members of joke-a-cola and SoSure. it was SO MUCH FUN, guys. i felt inspired afterward, just happy with life. so happy…

THURSDAY, pt.2: …that when laura, the lovely lady who runs the open mic that followed the story time show grumbled about having to host it, i offered my services immediately. so i also hosted the mic, which amazingly enough had a pretty receptive audience. lots of newbies - good newbies, dammit - and quality stuff from the regulars. karen hilton closed it out - she’s one of the best comics in atlanta. i always love to see her.

comedy. more and more, it’s what i’m living for.
